Belonging to the general government or union of the states. Founded on or organized under the Constitution of the United States. Pertaining to the national government of the United States. Of or constituting a government in which power is distributed between a central authority (i.e. federal government) and a number of constituent territorial units (i.e. states).
A league or compact between two or more states, to become united under one central government.
